Northwich’s Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) is proud to support the inaugural National BCRP Awareness Week, taking place from 17th March 2025. This initiative highlights the vital role of partnership working in tackling crime, safeguarding communities, and strengthening collaboration between local businesses, Northwich BID, Cheshire Police, and the local authority to create a safer and more secure town centre.

Targeting Crime Through Partnership

The Northwich BCRP uses a joined-up approach to prevent and respond to business crime, with initiatives including:

✔️ New UV note scanners – funded by Northwich BID to help businesses quickly detect counterfeit currency and prevent fraud.
✔️ BCRP radio network – linking businesses, CCTV control, and Cheshire Police to allow real-time responses to crime and anti-social behaviour.
✔️ Exclusions and warnings – targeting high-harm and repeat offenders, ensuring that those banned from one business are banned from all within the partnership.
✔️ Regular intelligence sharing meetings – helping businesses stay informed on crime trends and known offenders.

Emily Jennerway, Business Crime Support Officer, said: “Cheshire West and North Wales Business Crime Reduction Partnership, known locally as Northwich Against Business Crime (NABC) is not for profit, subscription based with the purpose of preventing business crime and anti-social behaviour by uniting the local business community with Northwich Police, Northwich BID, Barons Quay and Cheshire West and Chester Council.

“Our aim is to make Northwich a safer place to live, work and visit.”

The team at The Entertainer in Northwich town centre said: “We find the updates and communication from the BCRP team very interesting. They pass down the right information that we need to know in store. They are always very helpful, and we feel they go above and beyond in their role helping to keep us all safe.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome them into our store as we feel they care about our safety. The monthly newsletters are invaluable and keep us all in the loop with what is going on in the town.

“We are extremely grateful to have the team look after us all and we look forward to another year working with the business crime team.”
